Job summary

Learning Community Charter School is seeking a Director of CIRCLE Space and Summer Program to oversee daily operations of the after-school program, develop the CIRCLE Space activities, and ensure safe, inclusive environments for students.

This full-time role leads staff, coordinates scheduling, engagement, and social-emotional supports, manages enrollment and budgeting, and partners with families and the broader school to promote a robust summer program.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the CIRCLE Space program
• Develop and implement the CIRCLE Space program
• Oversee scheduling, activities, and procedures
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment
• Monitor attendance and sign-in/out procedures
• Maintain accurate program records and documentation
• Plan and implement the LCCS summer program
• Maintain a program budget that generates a profit
• Build positive relationships with students and foster community
• Support student engagement, behavior management, and restorative practices
• Promote student independence, leadership, and responsibility
• Assist staff with social-emotional learning practices
• Respond to student needs and emergencies
• Manage supervision, scheduling, and support of after-school staff
• Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to staff
• Lead onboarding and training of new employees and volunteers
• Ensure adequate staffing coverage and deployment
• Serve as acting program leader in the Director's absence
• Work with administration to hire summer faculty
• Maintain positive relationships with families
• Communicate program updates and information to families
• Assist with parent questions and feedback
• Support family events and community-building activities
• Promote the summer program and design promotional materials
• Assist in planning enrichment opportunities (arts, STEM, academics, physical activity, leadership)
• Collaborate with staff and partners to enhance programming
• Monitor program quality and student participation
• Manage student registration and enrollment
• Maintain attendance, billing, and program participation records
• Manage budget tracking, supply inventory, and purchasing requests
• Prepare reports on enrollment, attendance, and program effectiveness
• Public presentations to Board of Trustees and PTO
• Cover the main office for administrative meetings
• Manage finances and materials for the summer program
• Seek grants to enhance the CIRCLE space program
