Job summary

The Church at Rancho Bernardo is seeking dependable individuals to join our Childcare team. This part-time role provides direct supervision and care for children during Circle Group meetings on select Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays this fall.

It offers an evening schedule 6:00 PM–8:15 PM and involves implementing safety protocols, leading activities, and communicating with parents and volunteers while maintaining a welcoming, joyful environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a heart for working with children.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass a background check and child safety screening prior to start.
• Prior experience working with children is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and age-appropriate care to children during ministry programming.
• Implement safety and check-in/check-out protocols.
• Lead or assist with playtime, activities, and simple biblical lessons.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of children's room.
• Communicate positively and professionally with parents and volunteers.
• Support the Children’s Ministry Coordinator with setup, cleanup, and prep as needed.
• Adhere to all ministry policies and procedures for child safety and conduct.

Team members help support a welcoming and fun environment where children feel safe, valued, and known.

Schedule

• Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays : 6:00 PM – 8:15 PM
