Job summary

The City of Pearland is seeking a full-time CIP Project Manager/Project Engineer to lead and improve day-to-day operations within the Engineering and Public Works department's Capital Improvement Projects division.

The position offers a competitive salary in the range of $75,266.43–$95,964.70 per year, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits including dental, long-term disability, life insurance, and substantial medical premium coverage.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in municipal government or related agencies.
• Experience performing quality control from inception through completion.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Coordinate and direct consulting engineers, contractors, and others.
• Experience reading and interpreting plans and construction specifications.
• PM certification or ability to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate review of plans and specs for design of capital projects; facilitate design kick-off through 100% plans.
• Develop project scope, cost, schedule, and budget estimates; monitor personnel and consultants.
• Direct all aspects of construction oversight of consultants, contractors, and staff.
• Draft regular project updates to city manager, council, and public.
• Secure project right of way during design phase.
• Apply engineering principles in review of plans and specs.
