Job summary

KLR Executive Search Group LLC is partnering with a nationally recognized public sector consulting and technology-enabled services firm to recruit a Chief Information Officer. The CIO will lead a ~100-person technology organization, drive AI initiatives, and advise the CEO on technology strategy.

The role requires 15+ years in technology leadership, experience in tech-enabled services, and a background in education/health/human services or government markets.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology leadership, including CIO-level experience.
• Experience in technology-enabled services or similar scale.
• Background serving education, health, or human services markets or government.
• Experience with modern infrastructure, cloud, and offshore teams.
• Knowledge of AI strategy and governance.
• Financial, operational, M&A, and vendor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with growth goals.
• Advise the CEO and leadership on technology matters.
• Set enterprise technology standards and governance across business lines.
• Drive adoption of new technologies to create competitive advantage.
• Lead the AI function, strategy, and governance.
• Oversee infrastructure, service desk, architecture, and enterprise systems.
• Oversee software development across onshore and offshore teams.
• Manage technology investments and vendor management.
• Ensure IT risk, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Support RFP responses and technology integration for acquisitions.
