An independent production is seeking a talented and experienced Director of Photography for an upcoming short film shooting in Brooklyn, NY. This is a suspenseful psychological thriller, exploring themes of isolation and paranoia, with a visually driven narrative. We aim for a dark, intimate, and unsettling aesthetic, relying heavily on evocative lighting and precise framing to build tension. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director to realize the film's visual style, managing the camera and lighting departments, overseeing equipment selection, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the shoot. You will be instrumental in crafting the film's visual language. We are looking for a senior-level cinematographer with a strong portfolio showcasing dramatic and atmospheric work. Proficiency with professional cinema cameras (e.g., Arri, RED, Sony Venice) and a deep understanding of lighting for mood are essential. Please submit your reel and any relevant past work. We anticipate a 3-4 day shoot in the last week of October 2026, or the first week of November 2026, with some prep days beforehand. Gear will be provided, but your expertise in maximizing its potential is key. Compensation for this project is deferred, based on a backend percentage.
