Job summary

KEMET Electronics Corporation in Simpsonville, SC, part of the YAGEO Group, is seeking a Ceramics R&D technician to support ceramic capacitor development for advanced electronic applications.

In this full-time, first shift role you will schedule processing batches, collect data, perform measurements, maintain records, and work with the Development Team to troubleshoot and drive product improvements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or lab environments.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Electrical and mechanical repair experience a plus.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and as a team member.
  • Well organized with strong time management.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift 1–10 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule capacitors batches through R&D process steps.
  • Collect data from process and testing labs on batches.
  • Conduct physical measurements and inspections.
  • Maintain records of processing information.
  • Assist Development Team to troubleshoot in development cycles.
  • Support quality improvement activities.
  • Contribute as a positive team leader/member.

Summary

YAGEO Group / KEMET Electronics is seeking a person to assist within the Ceramics R&D Group. This position involves technician support for projects that R&D engineers run for the development of ceramic capacitors for electronic applications. KEMET's ceramics R&D group develops ceramic capacitors for advanced applications in electric vehicles, AI servers, medical electronics as well as military and space applications. This is a first shift position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling batches of capacitors for processing through different process steps within the R&D product development line
  • Collecting data from other teams within the process lab and testing lab on the development batches as they are sent through the various processing steps
  • Conducting physical measurements and inspections on capacitors, as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of processing information manually or in designated software
  • Working with Development Team to report on and help troubleshoot through development cycles for new products
  • Support quality improvement activities where applicable
  • Function as a positive team leader/member
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma, Associate's Degree in Technical field would be a plus
  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Lab environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, & Teams
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical repair is a plus
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and as a team member where needed
  • Important to be well organized and efficient at managing your time.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move materials of weight 1 to 10 lbs.
