Qualifications

  • 7+ years laboratory experience with 3+ years in leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, lab operations, and chemical safety.
  • Experience in method development, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily laboratory operations, staffing, workload planning, and testing priorities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of analytical data, reports, and investigations.
  • Maintain safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods and procedures.

Job Summary

YAGEO Group is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Supervisor at our Simpsonville, SC location. This is an onsite role. The Chemical Laboratory Supervisor leads laboratory operations to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality analytical testing in support of material characterization, process development, manufacturing support, quality assurance, and customer investigations. This role provides technical leadership, manages laboratory personnel and resources, develops analytical capabilities, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience with elemental, molecular, and materials characterization techniques such as ICP, XRF, GC-MS, IC, FTIR, and related analytical tools, along with a strong passion for scientific problem-solving and continuous learning. Experience with powder characterization techniques such as specific surface area, particle size distribution, along with different thermal analysis techniques like DTA, TGA, DSC, are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily laboratory operations, personnel, workload planning, and testing priorities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of analytical data, technical reports, and investigation findings.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods, laboratory procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and service programs.
  • Evaluate, justify, and implement new analytical technologies and laboratory capabilities.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel.
  • Support R&D, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, and reliability-related investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in laboratory capabilities, operational efficiency, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Analytical or polymer Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of laboratory experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, laboratory operations and chemical safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in method development, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline is a strong plus.
  • Experience with advanced powder, polymer, and materials characterization techniques.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, product development, or failure analysis activities.
Education and Experience
  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Analytical or polymer Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of laboratory experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
