Job summary

Santander US is seeking a Markets Analyst within the CIB Markets group to support daily sales activities and learn across areas of the markets business. This role will interact with various teams to gain experience and assist with day‑to‑day functions of the business.

The candidate will help with pricing inquiries, transaction execution, trade lifecycle monitoring, and client meetings while ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
• High motivation, proactive attitude, and results‑oriented approach in a fast‑paced Sales & Trading environment.
• Ability to work under pressure with timely decision‑making and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to the Sales team in daily commercial activities and revenue generation.
• Develop understanding of fixed income and foreign exchange products across markets.
• Participate in client coverage activities, respond to pricing inquiries, assist in transaction execution, and monitor trade activity.
• Coordinate client meetings, investor roadshows, and other commercial initiatives including agenda and logistics.
• Oversee booking of transactions, review confirmations, monitor daily P&L, and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Monitor transactions throughout lifecycle including reconciliation, clearing, and settlement; identify issues and resolve promptly.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and contribute to automation to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

The Markets Analyst is a role within the larger CIB Markets group that will assist with sales daily activities. This role will interact across different areas of the markets business to gain experience and assist with the day‑to‑day functions of the business. This person should expect to collaborate with different areas SCIB as a whole.

• Providing comprehensive support to the Sales team in daily commercial activities, contributing to the development of client relationships, identification of new business opportunities, and overall revenue generation.
• Developing a deep understanding of fixed income and foreign exchange products across emerging and developed markets
• Participating in client coverage activities, including responding to pricing inquiries, assisting in transaction execution, monitoring trade activity, and ensuring timely follow‑up on client requests.
• Coordinating and participating in client meetings, investor roadshows, and other commercial initiatives, including agenda preparation, meeting logistics, follow‑up activities, and tracking potential business opportunities.
• Overseeing the accurate and timely booking of transactions, reviewing trade confirmations, monitoring daily P&L, and identifying potential discrepancies to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory procedures and controls.
• Monitoring transactions throughout their lifecycle, including reconciliation, clearing, and settlement processes, ensuring operational efficiency and the timely resolution of outstanding issues.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline recurring workflows and contributing to the development and implementation of automated solutions aimed at improving efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and minimizing operational risk.
