Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a CI/CD Automation Engineer in Jersey City, NJ or Charlotte, NC to modernize testing, patching, and deployment processes. This role emphasizes building automated test frameworks and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve deployment quality.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on CI/CD automation experience designing and improving deployment pipelines.
• Playwright experience REQUIRED with hands-on UI test scripts.
• Experience with test automation frameworks/tools including Cucumber or Playwright.
• Strong Ansible experience; write, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks.
• Strong Python skills for automation and testing.
• Experience automating patching and deployments and integrating tests.
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift in containerized environments.
• Understanding of containerized vs VM-based workloads (Windows and RHEL/Linux).
• Knowledge of Java and React applications; develop automated tests accordingly.
• Develop automated tests post-patching and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop Playwright-based UI automation to validate post-deployment functionality.
• Automate testing processes to reduce manual validation and improve deployment confidence.
• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate patching, configuration, and deployment.
• Integrate automated test execution into existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automation to validate applications after patching and deployment.
• Reduce manual effort and operational risk of patching through automation.
• Collaborate with development and infra teams to determine test coverage.
• Support deployment across containerized and VM-based environments.
• Develop Python scripts and other automation as needed for testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot failed tests, deployments, and pipeline executions.
• Expand automated test coverage for Java and React applications.
