Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is seeking a Safe Families for Children Coordinator in the Wexford, PA area. The role focuses on connecting families with volunteer Host Families, church partners, and community resources to support at-risk children and their parents.

You will recruit and train church ministry leads, coach volunteers, and maintain program documentation while coordinating with local faith communities and service providers to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field of study from an accredited college.
• Master’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred.
• Prior experience working with at-risk children and families.
• Prior experience working collaboratively with local faith communities, preferred.
• May require professional licensure in the respective state.
• Experience with public speaking in a variety of settings to include child welfare, faith communities, and collaborative networks, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• An ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Prior experience in recruitment, marketing, volunteer management, or coaching.
• Prior experience with and demonstrated ability to utilize social media.
• Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• A self-starter with an ability to work autonomously.
• Reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks.
• Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
• Work well under pressure and adaptable to change.
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage.
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage churches in various levels: participating, lead, and community lead.
• Identify, recruit, and train church ministry leads and coach them on building ministry teams.
• Coach Ministry Leads to grow SFFC churches and recruit volunteers.
• Oversee growth of SFFC Church programs and Circles of Support.
• Develop faith forums or pastoral gatherings as needed.
• Facilitate recruitment of volunteers through Church engagement and events.
• Assist in organizing and delivering high-quality volunteer training.
• Provide reports to management, the board, and stakeholders as requested.
• Ensure safety oversight of SFFC program implementation.
• Supervise and train Family Coaches and Host Families in hosting processes.
• Maintain all Safe Families volunteers’ files and ensure documentation quality.
• Build relationships with church representatives and community agencies.
• Participate in community outreach and publicity for Safe Families.
• Contribute to fundraising activities and events promoting Safe Families.
• Respect confidentiality and act as a champion for compassion and hospitality.
• Essential duties may vary by program/department and may include Bethany events.
