Job summary

Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, CA is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage all incoming funds for the church and school. You will coordinate counters, processors, and deposit preparers, and ensure deposits tie to the GL.

You will perform monthly GL reconciliations, assist with tax filings, and provide timely financial analysis to support ministries and leadership. Proficiency in Sage Intacct and ROCK is preferred, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• College degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant accounts payable and revenue recording.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process and report all incoming funds for church and school.
• Coordinate volunteer counters, check processors, and deposit preparers.
• Research and resolve deposits, bank reconciliations, AR payments, and online giving issues.
• Perform monthly GL reconciliations and financial analysis as needed.
• Support the ministries with monthly reporting and analysis.
• Suggest process and procedure improvements.
• Balance and prepare contributions deposits.
• Prepare and mail quarterly and year-end giving statements.
• Manage donor relationships and resolve online giving issues.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements in Sage Intacct.
