Job summary

Hope City Church seeks a Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner with the CFO on budgeting and internal controls. The role manages the accounting team and delivers timely close packages and analyses for leadership review.

Responsibilities include overseeing offerings processing and reconciliations, month-end close, audit coordination, 1099 reporting, and maintaining strong policies and systems, including Sage Intacct and advanced Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years financial management; 8+ years preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience; CPA a plus.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct and advanced Excel.
• Ability to apply AI/tech to improve accounting and confidentiality.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team with a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Oversee offering processing, giving records, reconciliations, and weekly reporting.
• Review AP, journal entries, check runs, and approvals.
• Manage Sage Expense Management processes and card activity reconciliation.
• Evaluate and improve inventory processes and reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end close and ensure reconciliations are complete.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and cash flow.
• Coordinate annual audit for Hope City and related entities.
• Ensure accurate and timely 1099 reporting.
• Support CFO in annual budget process and monitoring.
