Yorkminster Presbyterian Church is seeking a dedicated Church Accountant to configure chart of accounts, manage user permissions, and oversee financial modules within the church management software. You will provide accurate and timely financial accounting, record-keeping, and reporting while ensuring bills, payroll, and taxes are paid on schedule.

You will support church leaders with financial implications, assist with special projects, and collaborate with the Financial Oversight Ministry Team

• Must be able to work primarily at the church to access files and information and be readily available for consultations.

Aufgaben

• Sets up and maintains the church's general ledgers in the Church management system for donations, AP, payroll, and record maintenance.
• Assists Financial Oversight Ministry Team with monitoring, advising, reporting and budget development.
• Prepares reports and statements for Ministry Teams, staff, and the Session; explores automation via the operating system.
• Provides backup for timely payment of bills, POs, reimbursements, insurance premiums and taxes.
• Serves as liaison with the Board of Pensions.
• Ensures secure storage of financial records and information.
• Analyzes income/disbursement streams to identify cost-reduction and revenue opportunities.
• Assists payroll processing and quarterly/year-end government statements; submits payroll taxes.
• Backs up and collaborates with staff as needed.
• Undertakes special projects addressing operational needs as directed.
