Job summary

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician – Level 1 to maintain campus facilities and support a safe, welcoming environment. You will work with a team to tackle electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, perform minor repairs, and assist with daily operations and records.

The role requires 2–4 years of maintenance experience, bilingual Spanish/English, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school degree or equivalent is required.
• Two– four (2-4) years' experience in maintenance or subcontracting with knowledge of technical subjects.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and heating maintenance to perform minor repairs/replacements.

Responsibilities

• Works with Maintenance Technician Level 2 to perform minor repairs to building systems and equipment (electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Performs minor finish updates and repairs to parishioner areas (drywall patch, painting, carpentry).
• Provides updates to Maintenance Supervisor and maintains records of repairs.
• Plans work activities, schedules, and custodial staffing; coordinates with departments to complete projects on time.
• Monitors outdoor systems (sprinklers), clears debris, and maintains walkways.
• Oversees custodial and landscape equipment maintenance and inventories tools.
