Job summary

Intertek Whitehouse in New Jersey is seeking a Chemist to support our separations group. The role involves developing and validating chromatographic methods, evaluating complex data, and coordinating with clients on study design and regulatory questions.

The candidate will write reports, advance separation technologies, and ensure instrument operation and safety. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related degree with 10 years of work experience
• MS in Chemistry or related degree with 5 years of work experience
• PhD in Chemistry or related degree
• Experience with chromatography data systems (OpenLab preferred)
• Knowledge of reversed phase, normal phase, HILIC and ion-exchange chromatography
• Strong organization, multitasking and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute method development, validation and transfer studies
• Provide evaluation of complex chromatography separations and data sets
• Interact with clients to discuss study design and validation questions
• Guide clients based on regulatory environments
• Write complex reports for development and method validation studies
• Advance separation technology within the team through problem solving
• Develop new methods to address customer requests
• Ensure safe operation of instruments and proper sample prep
• Troubleshoot problems and perform investigations when needed
• Maintain and repair instruments and document results
