Job summary

Camp Canaan in Rock Hill, South Carolina, offers a 12-month internship designed to immerse you in the Christian camp and retreat industry. Interns participate in all aspects of camp life while focusing on their areas of interest, creating or refining programs and gaining leadership experience on a 100-acre island.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong Christian faith; kid-focused, family-friendly.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to lead others.
• Able to work long hours and irregular shifts in a multi-task environment.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the mission and vision of Canaan at all times
• Checking in and hosting retreat groups throughout the year
• Facilitating our high adventure (belaying, ziplining, and more!)
• Cleaning and maintenance duties (cleaning retreat group space, mowing, leaf blowing, and more)
• Running and facilitating summer staff events (biweekly Bible studies, annual Christmas party, pool party, and more)
• Creating and implementing new programming ideas or revitalizing older ones
• Working alongside our directors to plan summer camp
• Recruiting and tabling at colleges across the Southeast for summer staff
• Assisting with daily office tasks
