Camp Canaan in Rock Hill, South Carolina, offers a 12-month internship designed to immerse you in the Christian camp and retreat industry. Interns participate in all aspects of camp life while focusing on their areas of interest, creating or refining programs and gaining leadership experience on a 100-acre island.

You'll work alongside our leadership staff and fellow interns, gaining hands-on skills in administration, program development, and student recruitment, ultimately growing as a

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong Christian faith; kid-focused, family-friendly.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to lead others.
• Able to work long hours and irregular shifts in a multi-task environment.

Our 12-month internship program is designed to immerse our interns in the Christian camp and retreat industry. Our interns experience all aspects of camp, while also focusing on their area(s) of interest, whether that is creating a brand new program or re-thinking an existing one. Our interns will directly impact our camp programs, grow as leaders and professionals, and gain valuable skills for their future career, all while working alongside our awesome leadership staff and fellow interns on our beautiful 100-acre island!

Canaan’s internship program has sharpened my skills and overall confidence in a variety of ways, such as spiritual growth, maintenance and tool equipment, administrative tasks, customer service, recruitment, and so much more! The program ends with my personal favorite thing- summer camp! Being an intern at Canaan has an environment where you will be challenged, pursued, and loved by our staff! My time in the Canaan Internship started as a trial run in full-time camp ministry and ended up being my full-time career! Through the internship, I gained valuable experience and insight into camp and retreat management, networked with many different people in all types of camp and retreat ministries, sharpened my leadership and professional skills, and, most importantly, grew deeply in my relationship with Jesus. I love this place, and I never want to go!
