Job summary

Simpson University in Redding, CA seeks an Assistant Baseball Coach/Pitching Coach to support all aspects of a NAIA baseball program, including practice, game management, and travel planning. You will develop pitching plans, coordinate throwing programs, and work closely with athletic staff to monitor pitcher health while promoting Christian values.

You will recruit student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, supervise peers as needed, and use social media to promote the program.

Qualifications

• Successful collegiate coaching and recruiting experience preferred.
• Strong Christian role model/mentor for student-athletes.
• Ability to integrate faith in teaching, coaching, and team culture.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proficient with technology, spreadsheets, and MS Office.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Self-starter, motivated, and well-organized.

• Maintain confidentiality and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of a collegiate baseball program, including practice, games, travel planning.
• Develop and implement individualized pitching plans.
• Coordinate throwing programs and monitor pitching workload.
• Communicate with athletic training staff regarding pitcher health.
• Provide accountability and discipline for student-athletes spiritually and academically.
• Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who fit academically and athletically.
• Develop recruiting strategies to attract qualified student-athletes.
• Participate in all team activities.
• Travel to away games and recruiting trips as needed.
• Utilize social media to promote the baseball program and educate on proper use.
