Job summary

Simpson University in Redding, CA, seeks an Assistant Baseball Coach to support all aspects of its NAIA program, including practice planning, game management, travel coordination, and recruiting events.

The ideal candidate has collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, demonstrates Christian mentorship, integrates faith into coaching, and shows strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills; a current First Aid/CPR certification and proficiency with MS Office are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of a collegiate baseball program including practice, game, travel planning and organization.
  • Develop and implement infielder development programs.
  • Attend recruiting events and camps as assigned.
  • Throw batting practice.
  • Coach the bases in game.
  • Assist in camp development, supervision, and promotion.
  • Assist in development plans for hitters.
  • Provide accountability and discipline for student-athletes spiritually, socially, academically, and athletically.
  • Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who fit academically and athletically.

Description

The assistant baseball coach will assist with all aspects of a NAIA collegiate baseball program prioritizing recruiting , on the field coaching and other duties assigned by the head baseball coach . This position will report to the head baseball coach and athletic director.

Qualifications:

Successful collegiate coaching , recruiting experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong Christian role model/mentor for student-athletes.

Demonstrated ability to intentionally contribute to the spiritual development of student-athletes.

Demonstrated ability to integrate faith in teaching, coaching, and team culture.

Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.

Ability to work well with others in a team environment .

Must be proficient in technology, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office software applications.

Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR .

Self-starter, highly motivated, and well-organized.

Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ

Effectively use social media to promote the baseball program.

Have awareness, accountability, and educate student-athletes on the proper use of social media.
