Job summary

Solid Rock Music Academy seeks a part-time Drum Music Instructor to provide high-quality, Christ-centered drum instruction for students of varying ages. You will create engaging lessons, teach proper technique, and foster a supportive environment that honors God while helping students reach their musical potential.

You will schedule and prepare lessons, align with SRMA standards, and guide students toward performances and recitals in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in drumming and ability to perform across styles.
• Ability to read drum notation and charts and explain rhythms clearly.
• Prior experience teaching drums or percussion to various age groups is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and also effectively as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Completion of SRMA instructor orientation and safety training before teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging drum lessons tailored to each student.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with program standards and Christian values.
• Teach technique including grip, sticks, posture, and rhythm.
• Foster a Christ-centered, encouraging learning environment.
• Prepare students for recitals and showcases; assist with performances.
