Job summary

Solid Rock Music Academy in Chico, CA, is seeking a part-time Bass Guitar Music Instructor to provide high-quality, individualized bass guitar instruction to students of varying ages and abilities, focusing on technique, rhythm, and sight-reading in a faith-based setting.

As a representative of SRMA, you will model integrity and patience, plan lessons, prepare recitals, and collaborate with a teaching team to nurture students' musical growth while honoring Christian values.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in playing bass guitar with ability to perform across styles.
• Ability to read bass clef notation and/or tablature.
• Prior experience teaching bass guitar to children, youth, or adults preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate bass guitar lessons tailored to each student's current skill level, learning pace, and musical goals.
• Develop structured lesson plans and curriculum aligned with SRMA program standards and Christian values.
• Teach proper bass guitar technique including hand positioning, fingerstyle and pick technique, posture, and practice habits to support long-term musical development.
• Foster a Christ-centered learning environment that motivates students to pursue musical excellence.
• Prepare students for SRMA recitals, showcases, performance events, and other academy milestones.
• Follow SRMA policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct at all times.
