Job summary

The Academy at Englewood Baptist Church invites applicants to join as an Early Childhood team member. You will assist the Lead Teacher in delivering a developmentally appropriate program that supports social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth, in line with NAEYC best practices.

You will help maintain records, participate in staff development, and foster positive relationships with families and church staff while modeling a Christ-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Early Childhood classroom setting.
• Demonstrate Christian values that align with the church and academy.
• Ability to relate positively with young children, parents, and staff.
• Effective and strong communication skills both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission, philosophy, core values and objectives of The Academy at Englewood Baptist Church and Englewood Baptist Church.
• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program of activities based on best practice principles of child development.
• Maintain records on each child's progress and development for planning and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in staff meetings, center activities, and staff development.
• Assist with daily health and sanitation expectations for routine care needs.
• Provide orientation and training for new staff, substitutes, and volunteers.
• Develop positive relationships with families and children and church staff.
• Observe each child daily to assess skills and plan learning activities.
• Contribute to ensuring a safe, engaging indoor and outdoor environment.
