Job summary

Boston College Bands Program seeks a part-time Dance Team Instructor to provide instruction and support for the “Screaming Eagles” Marching Band Dance Team. This role requires extensive experience choreographing and teaching pom, kickline, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop styles, with availability for preseason Camp, rehearsals, and travel performances.

The instructor will manage uniforms and equipment, collaborate with student leaders to meet recruiting goals, and participate in off-season

Qualifications

Master's degree in dance or dance education preferred.
Proven choreography and instructional experience across pom, kickline, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop.
Experience managing a dance ensemble.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to relate to and motivate college students.
Must attend Band Camp, all rehearsals, and all performances.
Must manage uniforms, costumes, props, and equipment.
Ability to consult regarding programming during the off-season.
Must work with student leader to meet recruiting needs.
Must meet with candidates and review auditions to select new dancers.
Must be available for post-season bowl travel.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction and support for the Screaming Eagles Marching Band Dance Team.
Lead rehearsals and choreograph routines.
Coordinate preseason Camp and weekly practices.
Assist with travel performances and events.
Support division initiatives within the Bands Program.
