Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a part-time Dance Instructor at the Roxbury YMCA to develop and lead dance lessons for various age groups in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and more.Hours are flexible as the program grows, with 5–10 hours weekly and afternoon/weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities include designing instruction, collaborating with fellow instructors, and maintaining a safe, engaging, youth-focused environment consistent with YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with youth and teens.
• Experienced in one or more dance forms (e.g., Ballet, Jazz, Tap).
• Ability to work as part of a staff team and communicate effectively with adults and youth.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement dance instruction in various forms of dance.
• Collaborate with other instructors to design routines.
• Provide feedback on technique and progress to participants.
• Grow participants' skill and confidence; manage classroom behavior.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment in line with YMCA guidelines.
• Serve as a role model and connect with students and parents.
• Design and implement curriculum and ensure roster accuracy.
