Job summary

New Bedford High School (New Bedford Public School District) in New Bedford, Massachusetts, seeks a Fall Marching Band Instructor to teach, mentor, and inspire our students. You will work with the Band Director(s) to foster a positive, inclusive environment and collaborate with staff across the Fine Arts program.

The role requires hands-on participation in summer band camps, fall performances, and community events, with a flexible schedule and readiness to support a wide range of band activities

Qualifications

• Experience rehearsing winds, percussion, or color guard
• Knowledge of wind/percussion techniques or color guard equipment
• Works collaboratively with staff and students

Responsibilities

• Assist with the summer marching band camp and fall season
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement
• Support the musical development of the marching band as directed by the Band Director(s)
• Implement musical and/or visual techniques needed by the students
• Maintain, secure, and set up equipment and materials for rehearsals and performances
• Establish a positive rapport with students and families
• Participate in concerts, marching band competitions, football games, parades, and other community events
• Flexible schedule including working holidays
• Must participate in med delegation training and provide completed certificate to Health Services and/or School Nurse
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Director of Fine Arts, or CDAM - Arts
