Thank you for your interest in a career with Coremark Metals! We are looking for a Chop Saw Operator to join our Minneapolis team. This position is primarily responsible for operating a chop saw to process customer orders and produce quality metal parts. No previous metals industry experience is required. Our experienced trainers will provide the hands-on training you need to learn the role and build your skills. If you're detail-oriented, enjoy hands-on work, and are looking to join a great team.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay: $21-$22+/hour, based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop product knowledge of materials within the Saw Department
• Review customer purchase orders and specifications to determine requirements
• Prioritize purchase orders based on lead times, delivery dates, shipping methods, and other variables
• Locate and pull metal materials needed to complete orders
• Operate a chop saw to process orders with precision, accuracy, and efficiency
• Prepare orders for transport, including banding, shrink-wrapping, and other packaging methods
• Transport materials and completed orders using an electric cart
• Audit completed orders to ensure accuracy
• Support the routine daily operation of machinery within the Saw Department by collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and other technical functions as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and safety
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task, be attentive, and flexible
• Visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard and computer
• Strong understanding of measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, and scales
• Ability to maneuver and manipulate metal materials both manually and with use of overhead crane by bending, twisting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and use of upper and lower extremities and back
