Rate of Pay
$17/hr minimum- $21/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)
Position Summary
The Chiropractic assistant is hard-working individual who works with the provider and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure a smooth patient flow within the practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
- Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating and preparing room between patients for the provider.
- Verifies patient information by reviewing patient information with the , recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit, or any other documentation required.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Labs, imaging, and chart review to be done that day before with report to the provider.
- Review of Schedule for accuracy, missing of needed documentation that may cause delay or rescheduling of appointment.
- Rooming patients and adhering to a seamless transition for the patient and provider.
- Checking messages and any voicemails in the morning left for the provider and communication of any concerns to the provider.
- Referrals and prior authorizations.
- Looking at the providers schedule to notify schedulers of gaps or opportunities in scheduling.
- Secure patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
- Counsel’s patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions abut surgery.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establish and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations and adhering to patient privacy laws.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders with approval, and verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Meets or exceeds organizational goals set forth.
- Other duties assigned by Manager.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Year Medical and or Chiropractic Assistant
- EMR Experience- Athena a plus
