Job summary

AdventHealth in Calhoun, GA is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant to support providers with opening/closing procedures and to assist in daily clinic operations. You will greet patients, help with kiosks online scheduling, manage the waiting area, and ensure smooth patient flow and data collection.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferred CMA/CMAC/RMA or other certifications; prior patient care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv (Required)
• CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA preferred
• NREMT preferred
• CNA preferred
• BLS CPR preferred
• PCT-C/NCPCT/NRCMA AMCA certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a friendly manner and assists with self-scheduling at kiosks or online.
• Manages patient waiting area and communicates wait times to patients.
• Performs daily inventory of medical and office supplies and notifies practitioner on duty.
• Ensures patients complete customer engagement surveys.
• Disseminates marketing materials and informs customers about clinic services.
• Maintains clinic cleanliness: exam rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Prepares patients in exam rooms and collects demographic data, insurance information, and medical history.
• Escalates patient concerns to the provider on duty and assists as chaperone when requested.
• Fills cancellation slots to keep provider schedules booked.
• Communicates with patients via phone and in person to meet needs promptly.
• Advocates for services such as sick visits, flu shots, vaccines, and physicals.
