Job summary

Eccalon, LLC seeks a skilled Microelectronic Design Engineer to join our semiconductor design team in the Detroit area. You will design, simulate, and validate chip-scale devices and systems for next-generation applications, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

You will perform layout, verification, and performance optimization, with emphasis on manufacturability and testability. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on chip-scale design and layout experience.
• Proven experience in microelectronic circuit design (analog/digital/mixed-signal).
• Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor).
• Strong understanding of CMOS design and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microelectronic circuits and systems from concept through production.
• Perform schematic capture, circuit simulations, modeling, and analysis.
• Execute layout design, place and route, and timing analysis of ICs.
• Conduct physical design verification (DRC/LVS) and validation.
• Collaborate with system architects, fabrication, and verification teams.
• Optimize designs for performance, power, area, and cost.
• Implement DFM and DFT best practices.
• Support silicon bring-up, characterization, and failure analysis.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and document design schematics and reports.
