Job summary

NSA's Language Analysts (MDLAs) are recruited to analyze, transcribe, and translate foreign language materials for SIGINT operations. They engage with partners across the Intelligence Community and may enter the LADP or direct-hire pathways depending on skill level and program needs.

Successful candidates meet language proficiency requirements, have at least a degree, and are prepared for rigorous training, multiple tours, and ongoing skill development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening for target language.
• A degree in any field is acceptable.
• Experience in language analysis or related fields or intelligence analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, transcribe, translate foreign language materials.
• Engage with partners, enablers, and customers across the Intelligence Community.
• LADP participation or direct hire into analytic roles, with diverse tours and training.
• Prepare and present written and oral assessments and reports.
• Be prepared for required language proficiency testing and travel if needed.
