Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Chinese bilingual Outside Sales Representative to drive expansion in the Asian Market retail segment in California. This remote role requires residency in Southern California with 8:00am - 5:00pm hours and reports to the VP of Sales.

You will manage accounts, promote products, and deliver measurable sales results while earning commission. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in retail sales, willingness to travel up to 20% outside CA, a valid driver's license, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail sales experience, ideally in the food & beverage sector.
• Willingness to travel out of state (10–20%).
• Valid driver's license with reliable personal transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Chinese bilingual required; additional Asian languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and marketing initiatives to support annual sales and profitability goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, distributors, and retail customers.
• Manage and grow business with grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and other Asian Market accounts.
• Identify opportunities for new product lines or extensions with internal teams.
• Conduct in-person visits, phone calls, and professional presentations to customers.
• Assist customers with displays, merchandising, store resets, and POS materials.
• Participate in distributor ride-alongs, trade shows, and events to open new accounts.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address inquiries to ensure repeat business.
• Handle required reporting tasks, including data in Excel.

In this role, you will manage accounts, develop new business opportunities, promote products, and deliver measurable sales results. This position offers a competitive compensation package, including performance-based commission.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of retail sales experience, preferably with exposure to the Asian Market. This position is focused on the California area, with approximately 10%-20% travel outside the state. Strong customer focus and a passion for delivering exceptional service are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and marketing initiatives that support annual sales and profitability goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, distributors, and retail customers, sharing market insights and customer feedback.
• Manage and grow business with grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and other Asian Market accounts.
• Identify opportunities for new product lines or line extensions in coordination with internal teams.
• Conduct in-person visits, telephone calls, and professional presentations to customers.
• Assist customers with attractive product displays, merchandising, store reset, and point-of-sale materials to maximize retail visibility and drive sales.
• Participate in distributor ride-alongs, trade shows, and special events to strengthen relationships, open new accounts, and promote products.
• Monitor customer satisfaction, promptly addressing inquiries or issues to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Handle required reporting tasks, including data compilation in Excel.
• Identify and research potential customers to expand market presence.
• Support post-sales efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and uncover opportunities for additional sales.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 3 years of retail sales experience, ideally in the food and beverage sector.
• Willingness to travel out of state to customer locations (10%-20%).
• Valid driver's license with reliable personal transportation.
• Strong customer orientation with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and also thrive in a team environment.
