Job summary

Ultipro in Garden City, Idaho seeks an experienced HVAC technician focused on chillers and central plant systems. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair chiller plants, centrifugal and screw compressors, VFDs, pumps, and related equipment, ensuring high efficiency and reliability.

You’ll keep detailed service records, communicate openly with supervisors and customers about conditions and needed repairs, uphold rigorous safety practices, and support apprentices as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of exposure to chillers.
• Experience with centrifugal, screw and reciprocating compressors.
• Familiar with VFDs and EMS control strategies.
• BACnet integration experience preferred.
• Large tonnage AH systems knowledge is a plus.

Job description

Focused areas of expertise we are seeking:

• 5+ years of exposure to Chillers
• Centrifugal compressors and chillers with and without VFD applications (York, Trane, Carrier, Smardt, Daikin)
• Screw compressors and chillers (air and water cooled)
• Reciprocating compressors (air and water cooled)
• VFD's
• Centrifugal pumps and motors including alignment/bearing replacement
• Cooling towers and sweeper/filtration systems
• Heat exchangers flat plate/tube and shell
• EMS Control sequences/ strategies and control devices (central plant and in the facility)
• EMS integration with central plant equipment (BACnet)
• Process chilled water systems/equipment
• Large tonnage A/H systems with and without economizers

Technician will be responsible for:

• Perform chiller and central plant troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs as required.
• Maintain record of work performed and parts/materials used
• Communicate effectively with Supervisor and customer on a regular basis regarding equipment condition, needed repairs and general operating condition.
• Values great safety practices.
• Uses proper tools and instruments for troubleshooting. Avoids needless callbacks by providing thorough diagnosis and uses skilled workmanship practices.
• Team player and ability to direct apprentices as needed.

Pay Range: $44.00 - $58.90 per hour

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
