Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to maintain and repair central plant equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and related systems in commercial/industrial settings. This on-site role requires on-call availability and strong safety mind-set.

You will perform testing, start-ups, commissioning, and preventive maintenance, coordinating with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer opportunities and issues. EPA certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of journeyman-level HVAC experience with commercial/industrial focus.
• EPA certification and valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with chillers, HVAC, and central plant systems.
• On-call emergency service availability required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Overhaul centrifugal chillers; assist with testing, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site maintenance and troubleshoot chillers and related equipment.
• Provide on-call emergency service coverage as rotation requires.
• Coordinate with Chiller Field Supervisor on customer opportunities.

About Us

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Familiar with all aspects of rigging.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Availability for emergency service calls “on-call” through normal rotation.
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.
• Maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Work directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls “on call” through normal rotation.
• EPA certified.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range: $40 - $90 per hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results.
