Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Thermal Systems Modeling Engineer to join our engineering team focused on advanced cooling solutions for data center customers. You will design, analyze, and optimize chiller systems for maximum efficiency and reliability, leveraging thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigerant system performance expertise.

You will collaborate with product management, engineering, and manufacturing to define requirements, validate designs, and deliver innovations that meet customer needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of thermal modeling experience or Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of thermal modeling experience.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer principles, and refrigeration cycles.
• Proficiency in thermodynamic cycle analysis and modeling using hand-written codes or software such as MATLAB, Simulink or ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of chiller systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance optimization.
• Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance under various operating conditions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product management, engineering, and manufacturing teams, to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Support product testing and validation activities, analyzing test results and implementing design improvements as needed.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in thermal systems engineering to drive innovation and maintain Carrier's edge.
