Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Thermal Systems Modeling Engineer in Charlotte to design, analyze and optimize data-center cooling solutions. You will model chiller systems, run simulations, and drive performance improvements through close collaboration with product, engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a degree in engineering with 5+ years of thermal modeling experience or a Master’s with 3+ years, and proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink or ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of thermal modeling experience or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
• Proficiency in thermodynamic cycle analysis and modeling with MATLAB/Simulink/ANSYS.
• Experience with product development from concept to production release preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of chiller systems, including component selection and integration.
• Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate performance under varying conditions.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering and manufacturing to define requirements.
• Support testing and validation, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
• Stay current with industry trends and apply knowledge to drive innovation.
