Job summary

Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) is seeking a Chilled Water Operator II to operate and maintain large chillers and related systems in the Electric & Water Production division. You will monitor automated controls, support maintenance staff, and make decisions affecting plant operations to ensure reliable service.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience with chilled water plants, EPA 608 certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience operating large chillers and chilled water systems.
• HVAC apprenticeship or technical training may substitute for two years.
• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain chilled water plant equipment and control systems.
• Monitor operations via computerized control system and report efficiency.
• Support lead mechanics with repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Make emergency decisions affecting plant operation or shutdown.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out safety procedures.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team during incidents.
• Perform routine cleaning and facility maintenance.
