Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part-time Childwatch Site Lead to create a safe, engaging environment for children while guardians participate in activities. You will lead age-appropriate programs, monitor behavior, and ensure safety in line with YMCA values.

The role requires strong communication, a dedication to child safety, and the ability to manage records and engage families. Part-time hours and a supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience working with youth in childcare, church, or school settings.
• Must be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED trainings.
• Strong awareness of child safety and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Childwatch program to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor activities to promote safe, age-appropriate behavior and follow YMCA policies.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about child progress and concerns.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA protocols and ensure proper supervision.
