Are you passionate about supporting children and families in underserved communities? MBI Health Services is seeking community-minded professionals to serve as Community Support Workers (CSWs) on a contract basis within our Children's Division. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a direct impact on youth experiencing behavioral health challenges. As a CSW, you will work primarily in field-homes, schools, and community settings, helping children and caregivers develop skills for long-term stability, independence, and success.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou will exercise professional, independent judgment to perform the following responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of consumers' treatment records.
- Collect information about consumers through interviews, tests, and evaluations of daily functioning within work, family, and other routines. Identify areas needing support, resources, and treatment.
- Assist consumers in their homes, programs, and community to promote safe and independent functioning. Facilitate physical, recreational, social, and educational activities. Serve as a positive role model.
- Identify social, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community that meet consumers' needs. Liaise with other agencies, professionals, government officials, and the community.
- Recognize potential crisis and emergency situations, analyze them accurately, develop strategies, and inform supervisors when incidents occur. Handle situations such as consumer aggression to ensure safety for all.
- Assist case management in identifying potential problems and contribute to the development of consumer Treatment Plans.
- Attend worker meetings, supervisory conferences, and other activities.
- Complete a minimum of 25 billable SIDA (See, Intervene, Document, Approve) hours weekly.
- Attend all required company trainings.
Qualifications- Experience in mental health, social services, or social work with children.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse environments and communicate well with children, parents, and families.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, computer, and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- High School diploma and relevant credentials through education and experience; college preferred.
- Must pass background check.
