This is what you can expect working with KenCrest as a
Community Support Worker with our Supported Independent Living Program.
Our
Community Support Workers act as advocates, companions, and facilitators while they assist program participants with intellectual disabilities and diverse behavioral and mental health needs with support in their home and community.
As a
Community Support Worker, you will aid with household management, ADL’s, and errands, assist with attending appointments and providing advocacy as well as support with self-advocacy, communication and self-expression, work towards achieving their desired goals and outcomes, and other support duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism
- Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience working with individuals with diverse behavioral or mental health diagnoses
- NOTICE: Client has severe sensitivity to smoke and prefers full, focused attention at all times**
- Ability to work independently in a home and/or community setting without direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate, understand and use technology (eg. iPad), and apply comprehensive organization skills
- Valid Driver’s License
We are requiring all new team members to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine*, except where a reasonable medical or religious accommodation can be granted.
