The State of Missouri's Department of Social Services - Children’s Division is seeking qualified professionals to manage and evaluate protective services programs across Missouri’s 28th circuit. The role involves directing planning, implementation of family-centered services, and investigations to protect at-risk children and families.

Applicants should have a high school diploma with extensive experience, or a bachelor’s degree with several years in protective services.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with nine+ years of professional experience in protective services delivery (casework/case management, investigations, foster care/adoptions, and related services) with valid driver's license.
  • Or a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Social Work or related field) with five+ years of professional experience in protective services delivery and valid driver's license.
  • Combination of earned credits and experience may substitute for the stated qualifications (30 credits ≈ 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Directs or assists in planning, development and administration of social service programs (child abuse/neglect, foster care, adoption, permanency planning, family-centered services, etc.).
  • Reviews and revises programs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Directs or assists administrative staff in general management, policy development, program planning, and coordination of responsibilities.
  • Conducts investigations, studies, and prepares reports to evaluate organizations, policies, and practices related to assigned programs.
  • Assists in development and implementation of departmental planning.
