Job summary

The State of Missouri's Department of Social Services seeks a seasoned professional to oversee social service programs such as child protective services, foster care, adoption, and family-centered services. Base location is open to the 28th circuit (Barton, Vernon, Cedar, Dade) with travel across the state as needed.

Responsibilities include directing program planning and administration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading department-wide planning initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with nine+ years of professional experience in protective services.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with five+ years of professional experience in protective services.
• Combination of earned credits may substitute for experience; 30 credits ≈ 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs or assists in planning, development and administration of social service programs (child abuse/neglect, foster care, adoption, family-centered services).
• Reviews or revises programs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, plans and procedures.
• Directs or assists administrative staff in management, policy development and program planning; coordinates responsibilities.
• Conducts investigations, special studies and prepares/reviews reports to evaluate programs.
• Assists in development and implementation of departmental planning.
