Job summary

Oak Meadow Montessori School in Littleton, MA is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to guide a multi-age Montessori classroom starting January 2027. This full-time, 10-month position focuses on delivering individualized, child-centered lessons and supporting each child's academic and social-emotional growth.

The ideal candidate holds AMI/AMS certification, a Bachelor's in Education, and at least two years of lead teaching experience in Montessori settings, with licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• AMI or AMS Montessori certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of lead classroom experience in a Montessori setting.
• MA educator licensure preferred or willingness to obtain.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and assess individualized Montessori lessons for a multi-age classroom.
• Observe, document, and track each child's developmental progress.
• Maintain a prepared, organized, and inviting Montessori environment.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain family communication.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and specialists.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings.
• Contribute to outdoor and nature curriculum.

Position Overview

THIS POSITION IS A MID-YEAR START: JANUARY 2027.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate Lead Teacher to guide a multi-age Montessori classroom. The Lead Teacher is the primary classroom guide, responsible for delivering an individualized, child-centered Montessori experience and fostering each student's academic and social-emotional development. This is a full-time, 10-month position.

Salary Range: $50,000- $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and assess individualized Montessori lessons aligned with the three-year curriculum cycle
• Observe, document, and track each child's developmental progress
• Maintain a prepared, organized, and inviting Montessori environment
• Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain ongoing family communication
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and specialist staff
• Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings
• Contribute to the outdoor and nature curriculum
