Job summary

The Salvation Army Lakeland Corps in Lakeland, FL seeks a full-time Child Care Provider to care for children, plan age-appropriate lessons, and promote safe, healthy activities.

This position is responsible for:

• Provides constant care for the needs of children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
• Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific.
• Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through inside and outside learning activities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis.
• Duties are performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
• Work is performed in a normal child care environment where there are little to no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required, AND

two years’ experience teaching child development programs, OR

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must be cleared by Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept of Children and Families and FBI background screens

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid State of Florida Driver's License and safe driving record.
• C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
• Mandated annual 45-hours of job-related training.
