Responsible for providing direct supervision and care for a group of children through a caring, positive, authoritative relationship. Makes children feel welcome and comfortable. Assists in the planning and implementing of scheduled period(s) of activities, which are developmentally appropriate and ensures the safety and well-being of the children as well as providing a model of quality.
This position requires occasional contact with a moderate degree of complexity in communications. Supervision is moderate with some independent judgment and decision-making. Work is largely repetitive with some innovation required. Problems to be solved have some degree of complexity. Requires passing of DCF criminal background screening, pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness for duty exam.
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with R'Club's mission and program goals. Requires ability to work beyond scheduled time, be punctual and reliable, can be reached via telephone and be able to take direction. Must adhere to the procedures for reporting child abuse.
Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or CDA minimum required for position. Experience in childcare field preferred.

Speaking: The ability to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Standing: 35% of the workday. The ability to stand, crawl, crouch, kneel or stoop without difficulty and ability to respond quickly to a dynamic environment.
Sitting: 10% of the workday. The ability to remain in a seated position and get up quickly as from a seated position.
Walking: 35% of the workday. The ability to move about on foot independently and respond quickly in a dynamic environment.
Pushing/Pulling: 10% of the workday. The ability to exert force in the moving of objects such as carts, chairs, large toys, and other mobile equipment.
Lifting: 10% of the workday. The ability to lift 30lbs. independently and lift young children who are moving and wiggling while being lifted.
