The role oversees childcare and recreation services, supervising Assistant Teachers and Recreation Assistants, and liaising with funders and regulatory agencies. The position emphasizes managing instructional environments, coordinating daily activities, evaluating progress, and maintaining records while promoting parent partnership and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Four years work experience with a similar population; two years supervisory.
• Experience supervising instructional staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage instructional environment to foster learning and growth.
• Supervise classroom aides and direct daily classroom activities.
• Prepare daily activity schedules and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain records.
• Write annual goals, objectives, and intervention strategies.
• Assess developmental functioning and learning skills at planned intervals.
• Consult with colleagues on all phases of the student program.
• Make parent contacts, arrange transitions to home, and invite family involvement.
• Maintain daily lesson plans and supervise assigned staff.
