Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Four years work experience with a similar population; two years supervisory.
• Experience supervising instructional staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage instructional environment to foster learning and growth.
• Supervise classroom aides and direct daily classroom activities.
• Prepare daily activity schedules and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain records.
• Write annual goals, objectives, and intervention strategies.
• Assess developmental functioning and learning skills at planned intervals.
• Consult with colleagues on all phases of the student program.
• Make parent contacts, arrange transitions to home, and invite family involvement.
• Maintain daily lesson plans and supervise assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Four years work experience with a similar population of which two years were in a supervisory capacity; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.

Childcare & Recreation Manager Principal Responsibilities

• Manage instructional environment in a manner that fosters learning and growth.
• Supervise classroom aides.
• Direct classroom activities on a daily basis. Prepare daily activity schedule and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis, maintaining necessary records.
• Write annual goals, behavioral objectives, and intervention strategies for students.
• Assess developmental functioning and learning skills of students in all areas, at regularly planned intervals.
• Consult and interface with colleagues on team on all phases of student program.
• Make parent contacts, provide for transition of instruction to home, and assure parent partnership, make home visits, and invite parents for school visits.
• Maintain daily lesson plan book which displays instruction in all content areas.
• Supervises assigned staff.
