Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare is seeking experienced child care professionals to provide in-home backup child care for families across Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties. Caregivers support working families when their regular child care arrangements are unavailable.

Assignments typically last 4–10 hours per day, with most caregivers working 3–5 days per week and 15–30 hours per week. Monday through Friday availability is required. Pay and benefits vary by assignment and location.

Qualifications

• 2+ years professional child care experience (infants to elementary age).
• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
• Available at least 2–5 weekdays, with greater weekday availability increasing opportunities.
• Must be willing to participate in automated staffing system and accept assignments based on availability, location and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
• Plan age-appropriate activities and play.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
• Encourage healthy habits and assist with hygiene and toilet training.
• Perform light household tasks related to the children, including dishes, laundry, and toy cleanup.
• Assist with homework when appropriate.

Important Scheduling Information

This position uses an automated staffing system. Caregivers are offered assignments based on their availability, qualifications, location, and caregiver profile (attributes).

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Keep your availability schedule accurate and up to date.

• Be willing to receive assignments through our automated staffing system.

• Accept assignments that match your stated availability, travel area, and qualifications.

• Understand that the more flexible your schedule and travel preferences, the more opportunities you will receive.

This position is best suited for caregivers looking for weekday work who can maintain reliable availability.

Job Details

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

• Verifiable professional references.
