Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a 100% full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator to support childcare program development and provider recruitment.

You will lead staff training, coordinate outreach, manage program data, and collaborate with community partners to improve early care services. The position starts as soon as possible after 10/26/2026, with a salary range of $45,000–$55,000 and Illinois residency requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Community Planning, Child Welfare, ECE, Child Development, or related field.
• One year (12 months) of education, training and/or work experience in early child development, social services and/or educational programming.
• Experience coordinating with families and childcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead training and evaluation of staff on policies and procedures.
• Educate the community about CCRS services and available resources.
• Coordinate program data, openings, hours, and provider qualifications in state databases.
• Schedule staff for phones and walk-ins to ensure coverage and outreach events.
• Perform yearly evaluations and address staff training needs.
• Travel locally or statewide as required.
