Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals for children, following menus created by our in-house nutritionist. You will maintain safe kitchens, order supplies, and document activities in line with licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with accurate conditions and food storage, understanding needs of children with food allergies, and avoiding cross-contamination.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare adequate quantities for the center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portions.
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking; food ordering experience is desirable.
• Two or more years working with children are desirable.
• Must be physically able to use a computer and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete timely documentation according to regulations.
• Support center staff and leadership to achieve enrollment and engagement goals.
