Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is hiring a Deputy Director - Childcare in Lynn, MA. The role oversees center-based childcare programs and family care systems, ensuring fiscal soundness and program compliance. Travel to sites and periodic evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of experience with children in childcare.
• Minimum four years of experience supervising others.
• Knowledge of EEC guidelines including QRIS, UPK, NAEYC Accreditation and CACFP.
• Willingness to work with diverse populations.
• Strong observation, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle stress and interruptions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interviewing, hiring and onboarding for childcare staff.
• Ensure programs comply with EEC and Catholic Charities policies.
• Conduct program evaluations to meet enrollment and contract targets.
• Foster community connections through local councils and events.
• Identify staff development needs and coordinate training and coaching.
• Support HR in employee relations and performance plans.
• Monitor budgets and contractual compliance for childcare division.
• Lead monthly supervision and annual performance reviews.
• Represent Catholic Charities on local/state issues affecting the needs of the communities.
